Eugene Tipton Scroggins [491:L] 81 of Edwardsville passed away Monday September 2, 2013 at Relias Bonne Eau Hospice Home in Edwardsville. He was born August 2, 1932 in Bunker Hill, IL to Jesse [279:L] and Mable nee: Tipton [305:L] Scroggins. He married Shirley M. Patterson [492:L, fb] on March 10, 1957 in Collinsville. He worked as a chemical etch operator for McDonnell Douglas before retiring. He was a member of Glenview Church of the Nazarene in Glen Carbon and served in the Navy during the Korean War.
     He is survived by his wife, Shirley M. Scroggins of Edwardsville; four sons, Kevin E. Scroggins [586:L] of Edwardsville, Craig S. Scroggins [587:L, fb] of Caseyville, Todd A. [588:L] (Nheela [46377:L]) Scroggins of Edwardsville and Bryan K. [389:L, fb] (Holly [21488:L, fb]) Scroggins of Wood River, IL; brother, Glen E. Scroggins [487:L] of Bunker Hill and one grandchild.
     He was preceded in death by four brothers, Leland [475:L, FaG], Paul [489:L], Harold [485:L] and Franklin [493:L] Scroggins; four sisters, Violetta Loveless [473:L], Bernice Johnson [483:L], May Hill [479:L, FaG], Winifred Gosch [481:L, FaG] and Evelyn Bloom Filed [475:L] and two grandchildren, Austin [43791:L, FaG] and Mason [43774:L, FaG] Scroggins.
     Visitation will be 4-8 pm Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Glenview Church of the Nazarene in Glen Carbon, where services will be held at 10 a.m Saturday with the Rev. Richard Unger officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the Glenview Church of the Nazarene.
