... Funeral service for Mr. Wallace Rudolph Scroggins, 90, of Alexander City, will be Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 1:30 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Wayne Cowhick will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park with veteran's honors provided by the Alexander City Veteran's Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
     Mr. Scroggins passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Brown Nursing Home. He was born on March 16, 1923 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Paul Vernon Scroggins, Sr. [4704:M] and Nettie O'Dell Haynes [4705:M] Scroggins. He was a member of Calvary Heights Baptist Church and a Mason. Mr. Scroggins worked for Russell Corporation as a Quality Control Supervisor. He enjoyed reading, gardening, fishing, doing yard work, and spending time at the lake. Mr. Scroggins was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
     He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Edna Lois Royals Scroggins [tba:M] of Alexander City; daughter, Susan Scroggins Wyllie [tba:M] of Port Charlotte, Fla.; grandchildren, Melissa Wyllie [tba:M] (Jonathan Burns [tba:M] ) of Nashville, Tenn. and Nicole Mazzoni [tba:M] (Keith [tba:M] ) of Jacksonville, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Magnolia Gibbs, Arabella Burns, William Mazzoni, Jacob Mazzoni, and Lily Mazzoni; sister, Eleanor Still [tba:M] of Jackson's Gap; brother, Paul Scroggins, Jr. [4706:M] (Inez [18825:M]) of Alexander City; nieces, Renee Sample, Jennifer Spraggins, Deborah Camp, Edna Cowan, and Frances McBride; and nephews, Jeffery Scroggins, Steve Scroggins, and Paul Royals.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Wallace Louis Scroggins [tba:M] ; and brothers, Denson Scroggins [51180:M] and Byron Scroggins [51178:M] .
     The family will accept flowers or memorial donations to Children's Harbor, 1 Our Children's Highway, Alexander City, Ala. 35010.
