Deceased Name: Pauline Premore

Press-Republican (Plattsburgh, NY) - December 21, 2018

September 15, 1947 - December 19, 2018

Pauline Premore, 71, of Prospect Avenue, passed away peacefully on Dec. 19, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Sept. 15, 1947, the daughter of Henry and Barbara Schweikert of Elmont, N.Y. Pauline graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh Nursing and began her career at Clinton County Health Department before moving on to become the Nursing Skills Lab manager at SUNY Plattsburgh where she remained until her retirement 33 years later.

While a student at Plattsburgh State, she met her husband to be, John "Jack" Premore whom she married in 1970. They had 48 wonderful years together.

Pauline's passion was her family and together they went camping, hiking, biking, cross country skiing, skating, and picking wild berries of all kinds. She was active in her sons' schools and then their lives after college. She and Jack followed them from New York to Florida, California, Alaska, New Hampshire and everywhere in between, especially the national parks. She loved sewing, cooking, volunteering, and family gatherings.

Pauline joined her husband on many a hunting and fishing adventure and they did a lot of dancing along the way.

She was blessed with three grandchildren, Adelie, Zachary, and Genevieve whom she loved dearly.

Pauline always put everyone first and was an avid volunteer, visiting nursing homes and the elderly at the hospital. She was involved with Family Promise, Gabriel Project, the food shelf, and helping family and friends. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the Ladies of St. Mary's, the NYS Nurses Association, Catholic Daughters, and her children's schools.

Pauline was an inspiration to all who knew her and even left her mark on many who did not know her. She was a strong woman and a positive woman right until the end. She will be greatly missed by all, especially her husband, children and their families. She was not only his loving wife but his devoted companion. She never wavered in her devotion to her husband and family.

Pauline was predeceased by her son Kevin; parents, Henry and Barbara Schweikert; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mildred and Francis Premore Sr.; sisters-in-law, Judy Spies, Carol Soda, Pam Smith; and brother-in-law, Donald Scroggins.

She is survived by her husband Jack Premore; sons and their wives, Brian and Sherry Premore and daughter Adelie, Travis and Katie Premore and their son Zachary and daughter Genevieve; sister, Loretta Villani of Illinois; and brother, Henry Schweikert and wife Jayne of Mechanicsville, N.Y.
