How casual is too casual?
Times Daily ‎[Florence, AL]
Jamie Scroggins [53156, fb]
Director of Women's Ministry, The Ark, Florence
“Worship is one of our core values at The Ark, and we are a house of creatives. We deeply love to express our hearts in worship creatively,” Scroggins said. “We have singers, musicians, prophetic painters, dancers and writers, along with others who are worshipping the Lord. Dressy casual has always been our most common attire because it allows us to worship and be comfortable and keep the focus on the presence of God.”
Scroggins said as New Testament believers, there is not a dress code that qualifies you to come into the presence of the living God.
“You can't be too casual,” she said. “Honor is highly important to us and dressing modestly and with great care before the Lord and people is a privilege. However, the position of your heart, the desire and the hunger to know the Lord and to worship him, far outweighs fashion and preconceived church models. You are truly free to come as you are.”
