Fairfield Bay News
During the Fall Conference of the Arkansas Municipal League in Springdale, AR., Fairfield Bay was recognized for two very impressive awards.
On Wednesday, December 2, the Bay was recognized with the City of Distinction Award for it’s recycling efforts for a city of a population less than 5,000 in the Green/Energy Conservation Initiatives category.
On Thursday, December 3, the Bay was recognized as the Volunteer Community of the Year. The Bay was one of 12 cities chosen out of 500 throughout the state. Receiving the award was Willa Wells, Mayor, Paul Wellenberger, Alderman, Linda Duncan, Alderman, Doyle Scroggins [36199] and Alderman, Robert Otis.

Nancy Lorraine Scroggins | 1946-2015
Nancy Lorraine Scroggins [21533:J], 69, of Boyd died Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, in Boyd.
Graveside service is 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at Hog Branch Cemetery in Boyd with Gerre Joiner officiating.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.
Nancy was born April 4, 1946, in Chicago to Edwin and Eleanor (Barr) Stevenson. She married Jerry Scroggins [21522:J].
Nancy was a retired reservation agent for American Airlines and a member and manager of the VFW in Azle.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Stevenson; and husband Jerry Scroggins.
Nancy is survived by her son, Floyd Russel Stanley of Boyd; mother Eleanor Stevenson of Boyd; brother Robert Stevenson of Paradise; and other family members and friends.
