Charlie Scroggins has over 9 years of accounting experience, first spending 2 years in public accounting and 7 years self-employed as a small business accountant and management advisor. His years in public accounting preparing tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts helped him gain an understanding of the problems businesses can face, especially when preparing financials or tax returns, or even internal management reports. In his 7 years as owner of Aperturo Financial, Charlie helped clients with a myriad of issues, focusing on preparing internal management reports, streamlining business processes, and helping create a vision for growing businesses.
Charlie graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with his Master's in Accountancy. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Texas.
Jennifer Scroggins has been practicing accounting for more than 6 years. She started her career at Deloitte, spending 5 years working with the financial services group. Her work there consisted of the taxation of international financial investment vehicles, including preparing tax forms for partnerships and individuals and income calculations for foreign corporations. Her years at Deloitte prepared Jennifer for the fast-paced, changing tax landscape. After Deloitte, Jennifer started her own tax and advisory practice before becoming a part of Scroggins, CPAs.
Jennifer graduated with her BA from Stephen F. Austin State University and completed her Master's in Accountancy at the University of Houston CT Bauer College of Business. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and she is a licensed CPA in the state of Texas.
With Charlie and Jennifer's combined years of experience and their diverse accounting backgrounds, they make the perfect team to bring a new perspective to any individual or business!
