 Silly Claim

Sen. John McCain's campaign feigns insult at the silly claim that Sen. Barack Obama called Gov. Sarah Palin "lipstick on a pig." They've got it all wrong.

The McCain plan to drill offshore but stop existing incentives for solar and wind - that's lipstick on a pig. The McCain non-plan for dealing with the epidemic of foreclosures - that's lipstick on a pig. The Republican failure to regulate the financial markets leading to a market collapse - that's lipstick on a pig. The failure to deal with al-Qaida where it lives, in Afghanistan and Pakistan, while waving flags and questioning the patriotism of others - that's lipstick on a pig. Doing nothing while our health care bankrupts us - that's lipstick on a pig. Doing nothing as college education slips out of the grasp of our children - that's lipstick on a pig. The McCain plan to give ever-larger tax breaks to the richest and saying it will trickle down - that's lipstick on a true porker.

Gov. Palin is none of these. She's not lipstick on a pig. She's lipstick on a beauty queen.
